52 Ancestors Biography- Harriett Olive Watson (1868-1915)

 Meet Harriett Olive "Hester" Watson- my 2nd great-grandmother

Harriett was born on 16 Oct 1868 in Clinton County, Indiana to William A. Watson (1844-1919) & Susanna Manus (1846-1908). She had 4 siblings (That I know of- still researching)- Oscar, Mary, Sina, and Minnie.


Harriett married Frank B. Seaver (1856-1936) on 16 Oct 1888. You can read more about him by clicking here. They had 2 children: 

1. Cleo Roxie Seaver (1892-1973) 

2. Otto Watson Seaver (1901-1972) (My great-grandfather)


U.S. Census Records:

1880- June 5- Johnson, Clinton County, Indiana- 11 year old Harriett (daughter) is living with her father William (35), a farmer, and mother Susanna (34),3 sisters and a ward named Michael Smith (16).

1900- June 11- Johnson, Clinton County, Indiana- 31 year old Harriett is now a wife, living with her Husband Frank B. Seaver (42), a farmer. They have one daughter Cleo (7) & a Servant named Lesley Henderson (20). 

1910- April 19- Johnson, Clinton County, Indiana- 40 year old Harriett is living on Hillisburg Gravel Road with her husband Frank B. Seaver (51), a farmer, a daughter Roxie (17) & a son Otto (9) and a hired man named Bert McDaniel (26), widowed.


Harriett died on 03 Jun 1915 in Tipton County, Indiana at the age of 46. She had uterine cancer.

Gone Too Soon, #7- Anderson Children





On 16 Nov 1848 Thomas Maxey Anderson married Mary Jane Stanfield.

d. 15 Nov 1896, Ohio, age 72                d. 26 Mar 1896, Ohio, age 66
Son of Daniel Anderson &                    Daughter of John Stanfield & 
        Jane Dinsmore                                    Ruth Mendenhall



Thomas and Mary had 11 children- 4 died as children: 






#1. Charles S. Anderson 
     b. 25 Apr 1850, Ohio
     d. 19 Jan 1853, Ohio, age 2

#2. Clara A. Anderson
    b. 07 Dec 1851, Ohio
    d. 23 Jan 1853, Ohio, age 1

Charles and Clara died within 4 days of each other, I can only assume of a disease or illness they shared. 
The siblings are buried together in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia, Ohio- J-70, Grave 7.
      






#3. Anna Ruth "Annie" Anderson
    b. 27 Feb 1868, Ohio
    d. 27 Sep 1879, Ohio, age 11

#4. Eugenia Pearl Anderson
    b. 06 Oct 1870, Ohio
    d. 15 Jul 1884, Ohio, age 13

I'm not sure how the sisters died being 5 years apart but they are buried together in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia, Ohio- J-70, Grave 5. 

Thomas & Mary's 7 other children all lived into adulthood and had families of their own. 

(Note: These children are my 3rd cousins, 5x removed)

Gone Too Soon, #4- Mildred Elizabeth Cain

Mildred and her family were Quakers. She was the daughter of Eldo Albert Cain (1874-1931) & Nellie Florence Jordan (1875-1952). She was the 3 of 4 children:
1. Cecil Jordan (1899-1966)
2. Alma Louella (1901-2000)
3. Catherine Lucile (1917-1994)




Mildred died on 26 Jan 1924 in Economy, Indiana at age 15. She was buried in the Economy Cemetery in Economy, Indiana; cause of death was complications from Influenza.

Mamie Mendenhall
Born: 14 May 1905 in Somers, Ohio
Died: 21 May 1905 in Somers, Ohio, age 1 Week
Cause of death: Convulsions 



Bushnell, Goldie & Mamie were the children of Charles Franklin Mendenhall (1873-1945) & Laura Jenkins (1870-1922). 

They had 6 siblings:

2. Luther H. (1894-1974)
3. Raymond Earl (1899-1962)
4. Ralph Kenneth (1902-1935)
5. Jesse L. (b. 1908)
