Walker McCarroll Mendenhall was my 7th Cousin, 4x Removed. He was born to Belton Call Mendenhall (1862-1907) & Bettie T. Atcheson (1869-1928).
In 1910, Walker was living with his widowed mother and siblings in Greenville, South Carolina. I can imagine the move was because of his father's death in 1907.
Sometime after 1910 and 1930, Walker and his family lived in Birmingham, Alabama where Walker did most of his schooling.

One sad thing about Walker is that a his yearbook at Ensley High School, his ambition was "to be in love". It's sad because Walker never married. He never had children either.
Walker died on 05 May 1954 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina at the young age of 49. I don't know what he died of, but in the 1940 census, he was in the hospital, so it might have been an ongoing illness.
Walker is buried in the Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg County, South Carolina
