Mappy Monday- Little Bedwyn, Wiltshire, England

My 14th great grandfather John Mildenhall Jr. (1560-1614) was born in Little Bedwyn, Wiltshire, England.

Little Bedwyn (or Little Bedwin) is a village on the River Dun in Wiltshire. It was part of a larger estate during the early Middle Ages, held by the kings of Wessex of England.

How adorable is this town?! I would love to visit someday!

One popular building in Little Bedwyn is the parish church- The Church of England parish church of St. Michael, which is located at the north end of the village. It was built in 1158. Part of the roof dates about 1500, the rest of the roof was redone in 1841 and the spire was dismantled and rebuilt in 1963 after being struck by lightning.

Beautiful church- St. Michael
