This Mendenhall was born on December 9, 1927 to John B. Mendenhall (1905-1945) and Johnie Buffington (1903-1968). I know they had a total of 6 children, but I don't know the name of this child born in 1927. 

~Robert Palmer Mendenhall- 6th cousin, 4x removed 

Robert was born on October 22, 1927 in Hardeman County, Texas to David Dewitt Mendenhall (1892-1967) and Nellie Lee Palmer (1900-1976). He had 2 half-brothers- Charles Dewitt (1916-1998) and William Dorris (1917-1939). He died at the age of 85 on October 18, 2013 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

~Dorothy Fay Mendenhall- 5th cousin, 4x removed 

Dorothy was born on April 14, 1927 in Port Arthur, Texas to John Everett Mendenhall (1903-1979) and Frances Elizabeth Winters (1907-1991). She never married. On October 29, 2004, at the age of 77, Dorothy died and was buried in the Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

~Ralph Aaron Mendenhall Jr.- 5th cousin, 3x removed 

Ralph Mendenhall was born on February 2, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ralph Aaron Mendenhall (1900-1983) and Daisy Cartwright (1903-1987). He had one sister- Lolita (born 1928).

Ralph married Patricia Ann McCart (1926-1983) and they had 2 sons: Joe Ray (b. 1954) and Lex Leroy (b. 1956). 

On April 3, 2008, Ralph died at the age of 81. He is buried in the Pond Creek Cemetery in Pond Creek, Oklahoma.

~Helen Louise Mendenhall- 6th cousin, 4x removed 

Helen was born on November 19, 1925 in Telephone, Texas to William J.S. Mendenhall (1886-1944) and Cora Mae Cox (1888-1951). She had 5 older siblings: James, Mary Margaret, Edith Marie, Clifford, and Opal Pearl.

Helen married Rayburn Arthur Jackson (1914-1988) on September 12, 1943 at the age of 17 and together, they had 2 children: Saundra Jean and William Michael. 

On May 7, 1998, Helen died at the age of 72. She is buried beside her husband in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Texas.

~Eleanor Ruth Mendenhall- 8th cousin, 3x removed 

Eleanor was born on November 16, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Dr. Elliott Marion Mendenhall (1899-1970) and Ruth Collins (1900-1989). She had one younger brother, Dr. Elliott Marion Mendenhall Jr. (1931-2002).

Ruth was a teacher. She also married two times. First, at the age of 22 on April 14, 1948 to Robert Craig Seet (1923-1948). He died 4 months after their marriage in an Army plane crash.

On November 23, 1949, Eleanor married Dr. John William O'Banion Jr. (1925-2018) and they had 3 children: Patricia, Kathleen and John William III.  

Eleanor died on January 7, 2014 at the age of 88. She is buried beside her husband in the Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.

~James Audrey Mendenhall- 7th cousin, 3x removed 

James was born on November 20, 1925 in Telephone, Texas to James A. Mendenhall (1906-1988) and Berniece Ellen Felts (1905-1989). He had 3 siblings: Odis, Joyce and Linda.

James married Betty Parks on June 28, 1961 and divorced on September 11, 1969. They had one child together. 

James died on February 14, 2010 at the age of 84. He is buried in the Greenwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Fort Worth, Texas.

~Mendenhall- Ruby Jewel Mendenhall- 6th cousin, 4x removed 

Ruby was born on September 1, 1925 in Bowie County, Texas to James Victor Mendenhall (1892-1940) and Mary Jane Hinton (1889-1927). She had 6 siblings: Clarence, James, Raymond, Larena, Eunice, and Earl.

Ruby's mother died when she was only 2 years old and she was raised by her aunt Bessie. Ruby worked as a private nurse. On December 15, 1951, She married Arnold William Breshers (1914-1999). I couldn't find any children born to this union. 

Ruby died on August 7. 1994 at the age of 68. 

~Mindenhall- J.B. Mendenhall- 7th cousin, 3x removed 

JB was born on March 13, 1925 in Newfort, Texas to John B. Mendenhall (1905-1945) and Johnie Buffington (1903-1968). He had one younger brother- Kenneth Wayne. JB married Girtie Marie Lyons (1928-1993) and they had 4 chidlren: Ronald, Beverly Jane, Jo Ann and Brenda. 

JB died on November 10, 1978 at the age of 53 and is buried in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

~Earl Finton Mendenhall- 6th cousin, 4x removed 

Earl was born on December 8, 1923 in Bowie, Texas to James Victor Mendenhall (1892-1940) and Mary Jane Hinton (1889-1927). He had 6 siblings: Clarence Ray, James Oliver, Raymond Orville, Larena, Eunice Victoria, and Ruby. 

Earl married at 22 on September 14, 1946 to Rose Pluta (1920-2009) and together, they had 2 children: Bruce and Linda.

On April 9, 2011 in Atlas, Michigan, Earl died at the age of 87. He is buried beside his wife in the Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

~William Clarence Mendenhall- 6th cousin, 4x removed 

William Clarence was born on September 22, 1923 in Hedley, Texas to William Henry Mendenhall (1895-1981) and Adah Koger (1900-1980). He had 4 siblings: Kenneth, James Douglas, Warren H. and Belva Marie.

William enlisted into the Army on July 9, 1943 and was discharged on December 24, 1945- Ranking Private. He was a machinist.

About 1946, William married Mattie Lou Mobley (1929-1979) and they had one daughter: 

1. Clara Jane Mendenhall (1947-1996)

On October 17, 1964 in Amarillo, Texas, William died at the young age of 41- Uremia, a complication due to his diabetes. He is buried near his parents in the Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas.

~Eunice Victoria Mendenhall- 6th Cousin, 4x Removed

Eunice was born on February 6, 1922 in Bowie, Montague Co., Texas to James Victor Mendenhall (1892-1940) and Mary Jane Hinton (1889-1927). She had 6 siblings:

3. Raymond Orville Mendenhall (1919-1959)

4. Larena Mendenhall (born 1921)

On April 28, 1946, in Jefferson County, Ohio, Eunice married Walter Puhowsky (1919-2004). She was 24 years old. She and Walter never had children.

Eunice died on April 19,, 1995 at the age of 73. She and Walter are buried together in the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens in Fort Myers, Florida:

This child was born stillborn on December 14, 1922 in Tarrant County, Texas. He was born to Thurman Richard Mendenhall (1900-1939) & Myrtle Mae Knapp (1901-1955). He had at least one sister- Betty Mae Mendenhall (1924-1998). 

~Kenneth Mendenhall- 6th Cousin, 4x Removed 

Kenneth Mendenhall was born on August 30, 1922 in Hedley, Donley County, Texas to Henry Mendenhall and Ada Koger. He had 4 Siblings: 

1. William Clarence Mendenhall (1923-1964)

2. James Douglas Mendenhall (1925-1978)

3. Warren H. Mendenhall (1929-1973)

4. Belva Marie Mendenhall (1931-2016) 

Kenneth lived only 14 days and died on September 13, 1922. He is buried in the Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas:

~Grace Lucile Mendenhall- 7th Cousin, 4x Removed

Grace was born on August 1, 1919 in El Paso, Texas to Paul Mendenhall (1892-1972) and Essie Harrison (1895-1942). She had one sister- Essie Pauline (Pauline for short) (1921-2011).

At the age of 19, on September 19, 1938, Grace married Marshall Wooten Alexander (1915-1985) in San Antonio, Texas. They had one daughter together before divorcing before 1942- Bonnie Grace Alexander (1941-1997). 

Grace married secondly to Lewis Elwin Brians (1919-1970).

She died at the age of 81 on August 24, 2000 in Tarzana, California. Grace is buried beside Lewis in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas. 

~Raymond Orville Mendenhall- 6th Cousin, 4x Removed 

Raymond was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1919 in Bowie, Texas to James Victor Mendenhall (1892-1940) and Mary Jane Hinton (1889-1927). He had 6 siblings: Clarence, James, Larena, Eunice, Earl and Ruby.

Raymond married Ann Opal "Annie" Cox (1906-1989) and they had one son: Earl Ray Mendenhall, born in 1945.

At the age of 40, Raymond died of a coronary thrombosis due to coronary arteriosclerosis. He is buried beside his wife Annie in the Springtown Cemetery in Springtown, Texas. 

~Helen Margie Mendenhall- 8th Cousin, 4x Removed 

Marjorie was born on July 16, 1919 in Electra, Texas to Dale Lambert Mendenhall (1899-1977) and Leila May Lawler (b. 1902). I couldn't find any siblings.

Marjorie married twice. First, on August 7, 1937 to Donald William Duncan (1913-1983) in Los Angeles County, California. By 1939, they were divorced. On July 31, 1939, Marjorie married second to Jesse Wilson Crownover (1913-1969). I couldn't find any children born to either marriage. 

I was able to find this gravesite from Ancestry.com....the dates match, but they were married for such a short time, I don't know why they'd be buried together? I feel like something is off with the research found- will have to come back to it later with fresh eyes.

~Lee Gripon Mendenhall- 2nd Cousin, 3x Removed 

Lee Gripon Mendenhall was born on August , 1918 in Chambers County, Texas to Corwin Guy Mendenhall (1891-1961) and Eula Leona Gripon (1894-1989). He had 2 siblings- Corwin Guy Jr. and Marilyn Alice. 

His brother Corwin- I wrote about in my previous post- you can read about him Here.

Lee married at the age of 28 on May 31, 1947 in Jefferson, Texas. He married Miss Zelma Mae Measeles (1918-1993) and together, they had one daughter: Laura Lynn Mendenhall (1953-1968). Laura was only 14 at the time- having died of a cerebral hemorrhage due to a thrombocytopenia and acute leukemia. To the right is a picture of Laura.

Lee lived to be 83 years old and died on July 7, 2002 in La Porte, Texas. He is buried beside his wife in the Fairview Cemetery in Winnie, Texas.

~George Elby Mendenhall- 9th cousin, 3x Removed 

George was born on September 15, 1918 in San Patricio County, Texas to Elby Leroy Mendenhall (1885-1941) and Jessie Smith Sutcliffe (1885-1959). He was the youngest of 4- Alberta, Francis and Joseph. 

George never married or had any children. He died at the age of 25 while fighting in WWII in Italy. He is buried in the Sinton Cemetery in Sinton, Texas.
