Surname Saturday- Roling

Happy Saturday everyone-- It's the Weekend!

Today’s surname biography is Roling. My 6th great grandmother- Martha Roling- married Gerhard Jeckering.

Martha Roling
b. 06 Jan 1740            Engden, Germany
d. 06 Feb 1783                        Drievorden, Germany

Her parents were Heinrich Roling (1703- ?) and Maria Silies (1715-?). I’ve found as far back as Martha’s great grandfather- Johann Roling (b. 1625 in Drievorden, Germany).

There are several spelling variations for this name---Rolland, Roland, Rollan, Rolan, Rolend, Rollend, Rollen, Rauland, Raulend, Rollain, Raullen, Raullan, Raulan, Rolands, Rollands and many more.

There were several Roling individuals who immigrated to America.
