Charles was the 4th child of James Mendenhall (1849-1942) & Margaret A. Hockett (1853-1922). He had 12 siblings!

21 year old Charles is living with his parents- James (50), a farmer, mother- Margaret (44) and 7 siblings: Ruth E. (17), Ella M. (15), Nellie (13), Chester (10), Marion (8), Irven (6) and Violet (4).

1910: 20 April- Macksville, Stafford, Kansas.

31 year old Charles is head of household. He works in a jewelry shop. He lives with his wife Sylvia (28) and 3 sons Norris (6), Merle (4) and Warren (1). 

1920: 02 January- Denver, Denver, Colorado.

42 year old Charles is head of household. He works as a garage mechanic. He and his family live at 4670 Elm Court- home is rented. He lives with his wife Sylvia (39) and 6 children: Norris (15), Merle (13), Warren (11), Eugene (8), Tiny (7) and Harold (2). (Tiny is Gladys)

63 year old Charles is head of household. He doesn't work. He lives with his wife Sylvia (61) and son Merle (33). None of them have an occupation listed.
