Good Morning! (Or Good Evening, depends on when you're reading this)
This news is a couple of days old, but if you haven't heard in recent news, a woman who was found 33 years ago has finally been identified.
In 1987, a woman's body was found along Route 33 in Bushkill Township in Pennsylvania. Nobody knew who the woman was or what had happened to her. All they knew, was that her body had been dumped along the highway.
Fast forward to 26 Jun 2020, investigators have identified this unknown woman as 37 year old Donna Kay Griffin.
What's sad about this story is that Donna was never reported as missing. How/why? Donna was born about 1950 in Dalton, Georgia but moved to Philadelphia in the 1970's. She had been married twice- had gone by the last names of Shelby and Linton as well as Griffin. She was also a mother, which is how her body was identified- by using her daughter's DNA.
If you read the article above, it states that they estimated her age between late 30's & early 50's and died of a heart attack. Foul play was ruled out.
This makes me wonder, if she died naturally of a heart attack, maybe her body wasn't even "dumped" by anyone. It also states that with the sunburn on her arm, she may have been a regular rider with truckers, indicating maybe she hitch-hiked often? Maybe she was walking along the highway and fell over dead? It could very well be a possibility. But also, it was a highway, did no one see this happen?
All recent articles state that they are still investigating who "dumped" her body. I don't think they'll find anything.
