Yesterday I wrote a post where I participated in Gene-Musings' Saturday Night Genealogy Fun that was about our fathers and their occupation.
With this post, I decided to go a bit further, writing down my male line and their occupations in comparison 💙
Paternal Side- Jeckering
F- Michael Jeckering- FedEx delivery driver
GF- Paul George Jeckering (1925-1954)- several jobs- baker, machinist, worked at NCR (National Cash Register)
GF- Gerhard Charles Jeckering (1900-1967)- Toolmaker
2GG- Joseph Herman Jeckering (1870-1931)- in the grocery business for most of life and then Vice President at Brinkman Engineering Company.
3rd GG- Gerhard J. Jeckering (1829-1898)- immigrant. Was a carpenter and then opened a grocery in Dayton, Ohio.
When Gerhard retired, his son John F. Jeckering (1855-1941) took over the business.
Maternal Side- Mendenhall
GF- Harold Earl Mendenhall (1916-1989)- Sales
GG- Earl Dwight Mendenhall (1894-1972)- Garage Mechanic
2GG- Marion Richard Mendenhall (1873-1938)- Hardware Store Owner, then Silversmith, then Watch Repairman
3rd GG- Richard Mendenhall (1852-1924)- Farmer, then Blacksmith
4th GG- Aaron Mendenhall (1828-1894)- Farmer
5th GG- Richard Mendenhall (1794-1871)- Farmer
6th GG- Joseph Mendenhall (1770-1833)- Farmer
Any further back, I dont have record of proof of occupation.
