One Person at a Time...Denorah

~Even though I have a lot of people in my family tree, I also have a lot of "holes" that need more research. Over the next few months, I am going to attempt to patch up those holes by doing research one person at a time- starting at the beginning of the list~

Today's Name: Denorah

Before Research:

Denorah was born in 1789. She married Edward Walton (1777-1867) and they had at least 1 daughter- Bettie (1805-1869). Bettie married my 1st cousin, 7x removed- William Mendenhall (1799-1852).

After Research:

So, it turns out that Denorah, was actually Deborah...probably misspelled on a Census record. 

Deborah Allen was born on 10 Apr 1775 in Shenandoah County, Virginia and died on 11 Sep 1842. She was buried in the Caesar Creek Cemetery in Spring Valley, Ohio. Her parents were Jackson Allen (1729-1786) & Elizabeth Davis (1735-1821). Deborah had 9 siblings: 

Reuben (1757-1821)

Mary (1758-1840)

Bathsheba (1760-1847)

Lydia (1762-1840)

Davis (1765-1818)

Elizabeth "Betty" (1768-1835)

Sarah (1770-1785)

Cecelia (1772-1821)

Israel (1779-1831)

Deborah married Edward Walton (1777-1867) on 18 Apr 1803 in Virginia and they had 9 children:

1. Samuel (1804-1844)

2. Elizabeth "Betty" (1805-1869)

3. Mary (1807-1810)

4. Moses (1809-1897)

5. Sarah (1810- ?)

6. Eunice (1811-1879)

7. Edward Jr. (1814-1863)

8. John (1816-1830)

9. Hannah (1818-1865)
